BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for supporting Manufacturing by expediting the movement of parts to appropriate work centers. Assumes ownership for processing work on a timely and quality basis and adhering to standard expediting. Must have ability to juggle multiple priorities and be customer-focused. Also needs to be a self-starter and take direction well from supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs daily duties such as:

Assist Materials Coordinator in maintaining inventory cycle counts and locations.
Ensure all incoming delivery matches the company purchase order.
Assist in the unloading and unpacking of incoming parts and materials.
Transfer in process parts to various departments within the shop and to the stockroom.
Assist shop leaders in locating work orders, parts and materials within the shop.
Pick parts from stockroom for weldments and assemblies.
Clean oils and rust off of materials before being welded.
Transfer scrap from various departments to the proper locations.
Assist shop employees in handling oversized parts.
Keep raw material and weld shop neat and clean.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor in the event of special projects or unplanned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Demonstrates a positive team spirit in daily activities. Performs all duties with a constant attention to detail. Shows an ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time. Demonstrates a “can-do” attitude and high level of motivation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED AND PREFERRED:

High school diploma or equivalent working experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Communication skills to interact with others. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Routine machine shop environment on ground floor.
