Position: Material Handler - Shipping (Day Shift)

Summary of the Position
The Material Handler – Shipping plays an important role on our Shipping team. The main duties and responsibilities of a Material Handler – Shipping include picking materials and packing materials to prepare for shipment.
Essential Functions:

· Retrieve products from designated storage locations within the warehouse.
· Accurately read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, packaged, and shipped.
· Accurately identifying items based on order specifications and ensuring the correct quantity is selected.
· Pack all materials into appropriate containers based on specific packing requirements.
· Ensure materials are packed effectively to avoid damage during transit.
· Coordinate the shipment process by preparing shipping labels, verifying addresses, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete.
· Collaborate with shipping carriers to facilitate the timely dispatch of packages.
· Conduct visual inspections of products during the picking and packing stages to identify any defects or discrepancies.
· Utilize inventory management systems to update stock levels and communicate any shortages or overages, as needed.
· Work effectively as a team to achieve daily shipping goals.

This job operates in a warehouse/manufacturing setting where various tools and equipment are used. This role must be able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and exhibit good visual acuity to perform daily tasks.
This position must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Required Qualifications
1. Willingness to be trained to operate heavy lift equipment to meet the requirement of the job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
This is a full-time position, on-site at the manufacturing facility. The weekly hours worked are 40 hours per week. There may be a need for overtime work.
