Material Handler
Location: Greenville, Michigan
Reports to: Material Manager
Middleby Refrigeration is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team in Greenville, MI. This essential role is key to ensuring efficient material flow throughout our operations, supporting production needs, and maintaining accurate inventory management.
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products, while collaborating with internal teams to support production schedules and uphold safety and quality standards. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to workplace safety will directly contribute to the operational excellence behind our trusted refrigeration brands—U-Line, Marvel, and Viking Refrigeration.

Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Thursday 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Position Overview:
The Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and inventory accuracy within the organization. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products throughout the facility. You will handle a variety of tasks, from receiving and staging shipments to replenishing production lines and managing stock levels, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently unload finished product from assembly lines and transport to the warehouse for storage.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload shipments from transport vendors.
- Efficiently distribute parts to workstations using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand carts.
- Responsible for retrieving parts orders for assembly and sub-assembly areas.
- Must proactively work with area supervisors and keep assembly/sub-assembly stocking shelves full.
- Utilize computer terminal to locate material and supplies in warehouse. Use computer to enter, access or retrieve data.
- Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms.
- Read production schedules and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing support role
- Proficiency using inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in material movement and recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely and effectively (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus
- Pass a pre employment drug screen and background check.
