Main Duties and Responsibilities-
The Material Handler serves as the lead packaging team member within the facility, responsible for preparing and packaging finished products from Production and ensuring all materials are accurately staged and ready for shipment. This role is a critical liaison between Production, Logistics, and Inventory teams, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and seamless communication across departments. The Material Handler will also support Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory functions, and serve as a backup for various coordinator roles when needed.
Packaging and Shipping:
- Prepare and package finished products (e.g., trims, panels) for shipment, including staging pallets for pickup.
- Conduct pallet audits to verify product accuracy and readiness for delivery.
- Label and mark products for parcel or freight shipment.
- Communicate with the Shipping Coordinator to notify when finished orders are ready for booking and shipment.
- Assist the Shipping Coordinator in picking and packaging products for outbound shipments.
Receiving Support:
- Prepare transformer pallets for testing.
- Break down and organize inbound Germany collectives.
- Inspect and process incoming backboxes through quality checks.
Production and Inventory Assistance:
- Distribute pulled job materials to designated work cells.
- Maintain stock levels in the raw materials room.
- Assist with part pulling as needed.
- Conduct regular plant walks to identify material shortages and replenish Kanban systems.
- Collaborate with Inventory on routine cycle counts.
- Participate in facility layout changes to support new and expanded product lines.
Backup Coordination:
- Perform the duties of the Shipping, Receiving, and Production Coordinators in their absence.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow all Bender Inc.’s Safety Policies and Procedures and, where applicable, the safety requirements of our customers.
- Immediately report any safety violations or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, including OSHA regulations, accident investigation, and loss prevention.
- Reinforce safety procedures among team members and actively participate in improving overall plant safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all safety-related action items.

Educational and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or material handling role preferred
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software is a plus
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory systems, email, and spreadsheets

Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided).
Work Environment
- Work performed primarily in a warehouse/production environment.
- May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial equipment.
- Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times (provided by the company).
