A material handler moves, stores, and tracks materials and products in a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. They may also load and unload shipments.
Responsibilities
**Loading and unloading
**: Receive and unpack deliveries, and load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, or racks
**Inventory
**: Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and recording locations
**Shipping
**: Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
**Receiving
**: Receive credit-return material and supplies from production
**Equipment
**: Inspect material handling equipment and report any required repairs or maintenance
**Safety
**: Handle materials in a safe and orderly manner
**Communication
**: Interact with other team members and managers, drivers, facility overseers, and customers
