Summary:
The Material Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations. They will be responsible for staging materials during the manufacturing process. They will also be responsible for performing material transactions within the Chemence electronic inventory control system.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Processes manufacturing orders within the D365 inventory control system (printing pick tickets, posting inventory transactions, closing manufacturing orders, etc…)
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
- When problems arise, resolves issues with contractors or vendors.
- Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to accounting department.
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Completes required training on time and maintains “up to date” training status
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.
- Must pass a respirator fit test and online medical exam in accordance with OSHA regulations; compliance is required prior to employment and as a condition of continued assignment.
- At least two years of related experience required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good math and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with operation of material movement equipment (forklift, picker, etc…)
- Efficient time management skills.
Language Skills:
- English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands:
- Position requires walking, standing for prolonged periods, occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. May frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools
- All employees must successfully complete and pass a respirator fit test and online medical exam in compliance with applicable OSHA standards as a condition of employment. This qualification is mandatory for performing essential job functions safely and effectively.
