Material Expeditor/Planner

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm


Position Summary: 

The Expeditor/Planner supports manufacturing operations by helping coordinate the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments to meet production and shipping schedules. This role proactively identifies and resolves material shortages, schedule delays, and departmental issues to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between depts. in accordance with production and shipping schedules
  • Proactively communicate shortages to Order Management team and provide availability updates
  • Resolve issues reported by assigned departments 
  • Investigate the cause of critical material shortages and schedule delays and initiate action to ensure that work progresses on schedule
  • Keeps departments informed about completion dates, material changes or substitutions and schedules modifications
  • Maintains and communicates shortage lists for assigned departments
  • Distribute electronic shortage reports to departments
  • Substitute for others in Production Control as required



Position Requirements: 

  • Demonstrate general understanding of material flow in a manufacturing environment and bills of materials
  • Independent thought, good judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Open-minded and team-oriented attitude is required
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills (ORACLE, Excel, etc.)
  • Quality Training (minimum in-house LECO training)
  • Works independently while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and reliable attendance

 

 

Education/Certifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
