The coordinator will guide material handlers, ensure materials are moved to designated locations, identify excess or misplaced inventory, maintain accurate records in Excel and SAP, and help determine the appropriate disposition of obsolete, recyclable, or refurbishable materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assign daily tasks to material handlers working across production-floor tool cribs and storage areas.
  • Review pending material requests from the previous shift and verify the availability of material-handling resources and equipment.
  • Walk assigned production areas to identify materials that need to be relocated, excess inventory, and misplaced items.
  • Coordinate the collection and movement of spare parts and MRO materials from drawers, racks, pallets, and other storage locations to a designated central area.
  • Sort and classify materials as new, refurbishable, recyclable, obsolete, or requiring disposal.
  • Ensure materials are placed in the correct locations and maintain an organized production-floor environment.
  • Record material movements and maintain tracking sheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Update inventory records and material-location information in SAP or other inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors, operators, maintenance personnel, and material handlers to support daily operations.
  • Monitor the progress of material-handling activities and provide direction to the team throughout the shift.
  • Assist with material movements and the operation of material-handling equipment when needed.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and support inventory accuracy, stockroom organization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help determine the appropriate disposition of excess or obsolete materials, including recycling, refurbishment, or disposal.

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 2–3 years of experience coordinating, directing, or overseeing the work of others. Formal management experience is not mandatory; relevant coordination experience is acceptable.
  • Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or inventory-related environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience using material-handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements
