The Materials & Logistics Manager directs and coordinates all materials and inventory control functions as well as overseeing the purchasing and distribution of products in supply chain. This individual additionally will be managing all supply chain functions including purchasing, warehouse/stocking, logistics, and shipping/receiving services for the Tulsa, Oklahoma location. Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in purchasing, expediting, scheduling, shipping, receiving and inventory control in an effort to support manufacturing with an uninterrupted flow of material.
- Manage and plan logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services including methods of delivery goods and storage of products
- Maintain reports as well as keep organized records of their inventory
- Develops and implements materials handling procedures; monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimizes resources, prioritizes spending and achieves volume, timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
- Liaises with functional or operational area managers (e.g., in sales, production, or engineering) so the supply of materials meets their current and future needs including new and existing product development initiatives.
- Research & selects suppliers. Develops & maintains good vendor relations. Negotiates price and terms.
- Works with Quality Assurance and vendors to improve the quality of purchased materials and reduce defects.
- Reviews engineering change notices for impact on purchased materials and makes appropriate changes.
- Manages all purchasing, materials and inventory control functions, and the development of production schedules.
- Leads strategic procurement initiatives that are aligned with company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business or materials management, required. MBA preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in materials and logistics procurement in a manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- D365 Experience
- Demonstrated background with strategic supply chain management and planning related to DFARS & FARS.
- APICS Certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
- The role is mostly office-based but may spend some time standing and walking on the production floor.
- May operate a computer, other office devices.
- Occasionally will have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor.
- While on the production floor, may be subjected to moving mechanical parts will wear such as safety glasses.
