Job Overview:

Microtech Knives is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Master Scheduler to oversee the coordination and scheduling of our production operations. The Master Scheduler will work closely with production management, purchasing, and logistics to ensure that production schedules align with company goals, customer demands, and inventory control strategies. This role is vital for maintaining efficiency and meeting customer deadlines.

What You’ll Be Doing!

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer demand while optimizing production efficiency and capacity.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure materials and resources are available for scheduled production runs.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and sales orders to create daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Adjust schedules as needed in response to changes in order volumes, production capacity, or equipment availability.
  • Monitor production progress to ensure schedules are followed and deadlines are met; communicate any delays or schedule changes to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks in the production process and work proactively to resolve them.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and inventory levels to senior management.
  • Lead efforts in continuous improvement related to production scheduling processes and systems.
  • Maintain accuracy of production data in ERP or scheduling software systems.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure alignment between production capacity and sales forecasts.
  • Working and traveling between our Bradford and Asheville Facility. Travel requirements up to 25%


What You Need to Win!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the knife or sporting goods industry is a plus.
