We are seeking a highly skilled Master Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will lead the fabrication of high-precision parts, handling everything from prototyping and single-part runs to full production lots. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating both CNC and manual machines (mills and lathes) while maintaining tight tolerances and ensuring flawless quality.
If you are a problem-solver who thrives in a precision-driven environment and takes pride in your craft, we want to hear from you.
CNC Programming & Troubleshooting: Develop, enter, and optimize CNC programs for part manufacturing. Troubleshoot error messages and adjust control instructions on the fly.
Setup & Operation: Complete complex setups on CNC/manual mills and lathes (installing/adjusting 3- and 4-jaw chucks, tools, collets, attachments, and indicating vices).
Blueprint & GD&T Analysis: Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and orthographic drawings to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Quality & Precision Inspection: Perform first-run and sample piece inspections using micrometers, indicators, and calipers to verify exact specifications.
Process Maintenance: Monitor machining operations (drilling, grooving, turning, facing, threading), replace worn tooling, and adjust/reprogram controls to prevent malfunctions.
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of machining experience.
Software: CAM system experience is required (FeatureCAM preferred).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in shop math, algebra, and geometry/trigonometry. Ability to read complex blueprints.
Machining Expertise: Strong background in CNC mill and lathe operations. Experience with 5-axis CNC machining and working with stainless steel is highly preferred.
Equipment Mastery: Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers) and comfortable operating manual mills and lathes.
Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School Graduate with a focus on CNC operations (or equivalent industry certification).
High attention to detail and a commitment to process improvement.
Strong conceptual, functional, and technical skills.
Excellent verbal communication and teamwork mindset.
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
Environment: Traditional manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and standard shop noise levels.
Safety: Adherence to all safety, quality assurance, and clean-workspace protocols is strictly required.
