Location: Houston, TX 

Position Summary

The Marketing Director will lead strategic marketing efforts across brand, digital, and demand generation to accelerate Griffin’s growth. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for building a high-performing marketing function that drives pipeline, positions Griffin as a category leader, and deepens client engagement.

As a senior member of the team, this individual report to the CEO and will work cross-functionally to shape Griffin’s go-to-market strategy and ensure marketing is aligned with revenue and impact goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned to Griffin’s growth objectives
    • Build and manage marketing processes, calendars, and metrics to support visibility and accountability
    • Partner with executive leadership to evolve brand positioning and messaging across channels
  • Demand Generation
    • Lead campaigns to generate qualified leads, nurture relationships, and support sales enablement
    • Optimize inbound and outbound strategies using HubSpot and other tools.
    • Manage paid and organic channels (including digital, SEO/SEM, email, and events)
  • Content & Communications
    • Oversee content strategy and development (e.g., thought leadership, case studies, whitepapers)
    • Support PR, media, and analyst relations efforts to elevate Griffin’s presence in key sectors.
    • Ensure brand voice and visual identity are consistent across all touchpoints
  • Performance & Analytics
    • Define and track KPIs to measure campaign effectiveness and return on investment
    • Use data insights to iterate, test, and improve performance across channels
  • Team & Vendor Management
    • Manage marketing contractors, agencies, and freelancers as needed.
    • Collaborate with internal teams on cross-functional initiatives, including client marketing and event strategy.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of progressive marketing experience; specifically within water management, construction, or related fields 
  • Demonstrated success in building demand generation programs and brand strategies that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Expertise in digital marketing, content development, and marketing operations.
  • Fluency in HubSpot, Google Analytics, WordPress, and related platforms
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience a plus)

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to move around the office and around the shop or yard. The employee may be occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business.
