Overview
We are seeking experienced Marine Pipe Fitters / Welders to support pipe fabrication, fitting, welding, repair, and installation work in a marine and shipyard environment.
The ideal candidates will have strong, hands-on pipe fitting and welding experience, particularly with carbon steel, stainless steel, and CuNi (copper-nickel) piping. We are especially interested in candidates with TIG pipe welding experience, with TIG experience being a priority for select openings.
This position is best suited for skilled trades professionals whose experience is primarily focused on pipe, rather than structural or plate welding with only limited pipe work.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit, fabricate, weld, repair, and install piping systems for marine vessels and related structures
- Perform pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and CuNi piping
- Perform TIG welding on pipe as required, including precision welding applications
- Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, schematics, and welding specifications
- Measure, cut, fit, align, and prepare pipe for welding and installation
- Perform pipe fabrication and installation work in shipyard, dry dock, and onboard vessel environments
- Complete repair, modification, and new construction piping work
- Maintain proper fit-up, alignment, weld quality, and workmanship
- Follow shipyard safety procedures and quality standards
- Work effectively in confined spaces and physically demanding marine environments
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience in pipe fitting and pipe welding
- Strong hands-on experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or CuNi pipe
- Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Experience with pipe fit-up, alignment, fabrication, and installation
- Ability to pass a hands-on welding and/or pipe fitting test
- Strong understanding of shipyard and industrial safety practices
- Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding environments
Preferred Qualifications
- TIG pipe welding experience
- Marine or shipyard pipe fitting/welding experience
- Experience welding CuNi piping
- ABS or U.S. Coast Guard welding certifications
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Experience working from marine vessel specifications and requirements

Candidates whose experience is primarily plate/structural welding with only limited pipe experience may not be the best fit for this position.
