Job Overview:

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 3 to support production through tool preparation, processing molds through cure cycles, de-tooling and completion of necessary paperwork and routine maintenance. Determines proper cure, procedures, monitors industrial Aerospace autoclaves and ovens, and related equipment.

Performs a variety of tasks, including both routine assignments and those requiring precision and close attention to detail. Uses standard procedures or equipment, adapting them when necessary based on established practices. Receives initial guidance, equipment needs, and support from a supervisor or engineer as required. Handles repeated tasks independently, with completed work reviewed to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with instructions.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Application of appropriate chemicals and releases as needed
  • Determines proper cure procedures for curing parts
  • Removes parts from tools and/or mandrelsLoading of tools and parts into and out of autoclaves and ovens
  • Responsible for maintaining bag leak checks during cure cycle
  • Operates the autoclaves/over recipe to specifications based on Quality documents such as the Traveler, Build Manual and work instruction
  • Prepare masters and molds in compliance to Engineering data and associated quality requirements and product Safety Data Sheets
  • Demold parts from tools and read the part for inspection
  • Alerts the Lead or Manager of nonconforming parts after cure cycle has completed and/or after demolding the part
  • Operates autoclave computers
  • Completes all task/functions with minimal scrap or errors
  • Establishes cure cycle programs per Bill of Materials and enters into autoclave controller
  • Detects difficult errors that would need significant expenditure to resolve
  • Assist the lead in scheduling autoclave loads
  • Implements lean manufacturing principles
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Must be able to read basic instructions and diagrams in English
  • Ability to apply appropriate chemicals and releases
  • Ability to use more complex hand tools effectively
  • Ability to determine proper cure procedures for curing parts
  • Possesses knowledge of complete functions with minimal scrap or errors
  • Possesses a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, producing accurate work and quality products
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and with others in a team environment
  • Possesses a professional and mature demeanor
  • Possesses a high level of ethical behavior

Job Specifications:

  • Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • Years’ Experience: 2 – 5 years of previous experience.
