  • Monday-Friday (Day) 7:00am – 7:30pm and Sat & Sun 7:00am – 7:30pm
  • The hourly wage for this position is $27.70

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for safety, quality and productivity of all equipment on a high-speed manufacturing line including unscrambler, filler, case former, case sealer, case packer. You will be responsible for performing receipt of all raw materials necessary to maintain support of manufacturing production lines. Perform and assist with machine startup/shutdown operations of all equipment in production areas including: filler, Douglas case wrap, case sealer, Hartness case packer, and palletizer/stretch wrapper. Assist with general operations in various areas as needed throughout the daily production schedules.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):

1. Assist with operational set up/shut down and maintenance of packing line equipment. *
2. Operate, clear jams and restart equipment such as sealer, case former, case wrapper, palletizer and Hartness. *
3. Hand stack cases of finished goods onto pallets as required. *
4. Identify alarms on various equipment to appropriately and safely clear jam to restart packaging line *
5. Apply and understand proper lock out/tag out procedures for each piece of equipment assigned to operate *
6. Load bottles directly on the conveyor as well as train and lead temporary workforce to load bottles *
7. Load cat cartons on to magazine *
8. Load bundles of corrugate into case former and case wrapper executing safe lifting techniques*
9. Inspect finished product for defects at various points on the packing line *
10. Fill out quality forms, used in production *
11. Perform housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and neat
12. Cross-Train for other production positions to become qualified to fill-in for short and long-term absences
13. Load corrugate and bottles into the baler and train temporary workforce to safely operate baler *
14. Perform operational set-up, blow back and removal of fragrance totes *
15. Operate Advance CS7000 floor scrubber *
16. Create hand add pallets for LLD batching executing safe lifting techniques *
17. Perform other duties as required.
18. Understand and participate in all lean manufacturing programs.
19. Apply and understand the Autonomous Maintenance Programs (CIL, Center-lining, and defect handling).


MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of 6 months experience in an industrial environment using and operating commonly used industrial equipment
2. Must be certified as Manufacturing Technician 1 at the Church & Dwight Victorville plant.
3. Prior experience working in an industrial environment requiring application of basic industrial skills such as special and temporal awareness, mechanical aptitude and process understanding Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
5. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
8. Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
2. Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media such as verbal, written, etc.

1. POKA: Proficiency in implementing and using mistake-proofing techniques to prevent errors in manufacturing processes.
2. Clicks: Competence in using digital tools and software for monitoring and managing production operations.
3. 6S: Expertise in applying the 6S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
4. 9, 1, 5 Forms: Ability to accurately complete and understand various forms used in the manufacturing process to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
5. Understand Boards: Skill in reading, interpreting, and utilizing visual management boards to track production metrics and performance.
6. Participates in Kaizen Events: Active participation in Kaizen events aimed at continuous improvement, problem-solving, and process optimization.
7. Autonomous Maintenance: Capability to perform basic maintenance tasks independently to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.

Operation Skills:

1. Pace / Depal: Efficiently operate pace and depalletizing equipment to ensure smooth material flow in the production process.
2. Case Erectors: Skillful operation of case erector machines to assemble packaging materials accurately and efficiently.
3. Case Packers: Operate case packing machines to package products securely and correctly.
4. Case Sealers: Proficiently operate case sealing machines to ensure packages are sealed properly.
5. Labelers: Operate labeling machines to ensure products are labeled accurately.
6. Palletizer: Efficiently operate palletizing equipment to stack products on pallets in an organized manner.
7. Wrappers: Operate wrapping machines to securely wrap pallets for shipping and storage.
8. Power Industrial Lift: Safely operate power industrial lifts to move materials and products within the facility.

Setup Skills:
1. Pace / Depal: Set up pace and depalletizing equipment for various production runs, ensuring accurate configurations and adjustments.
2. Case Erectors: Configure and set up case erector machines for different packaging requirements, ensuring correct settings and alignment.
3. Line Conveyors: Set up line conveyors to ensure smooth and efficient material flow throughout the production line.
4. Case Packers: Configure and set up case packing machines for different product specifications and packaging needs.
5. Labelers: Set up labeling machines to ensure accurate label placement and settings for various products.
6. Wrappers: Configure and set up wrapping machines to ensure secure wrapping of pallets for shipping and storage.
