ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
- Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
- Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
- Conducts various tests or experiments that may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.
- Extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.
- Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.
- Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
- Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
- Supports the facilities function as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.

- Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
- Reports promptly any suspected or potential violations to laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices, and cooperates in related investigation.
- Conducts all transactions in compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
Safety Requirements: Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with Codes of Safe Practice, safety policies and emergency procedures.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Experience:
- Entry level – one (1) years relevant experience.
- Proficiency in operating electrical lab test equipment.
Licensure/Certification: None
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills in office management software (MS Office Applications).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Possesses high mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions explicitly or innovate, depending on situation.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills.
- Ongoing manufacturing support and engineering insight to other support staff.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possesses knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement environment
- Ability to write Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for statements of work in manufacturing transitions.
- Ability to read design specifications and technical drawings.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and to work alongside peers.

Preferred Position Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or
industrial setting preferred.
Experience:
- One (1) plus years relevant experience preferred.
- Three (3) plus years’ experience in a relevant lab test environment preferred
- Experience in content/document management and maintain development documentation for traceability preferred.
- Experience in 2D drawing and specification interpretation and electro/mechanical analysis a plus.
- Experience using quality gauges, micrometers, calipers, microscope a plus
- Experience with fabrication of light manufacturing/test equipment (i.e. tables, fixtures, brackets) a plus.
Computer Skills:
Other: Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
