Schedule: Monday - Friday | 3 PM – 11:30 PM | Overtime on weekdays and weekends as needed
Employment Type: Full Time

What You'll Do

As Manufacturing Lead, you'll help supervise the production team, organize work, and monitor workflow to carry out the manufacturing goals set by the supervisor, production manager, and upper management.

  • Set clear job expectations, then plan, monitor, and appraise results. Coach, counsel, and, working with management and HR, discipline employees when needed.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure operators are properly trained for their assignments and help create growth opportunities for your team.
  • Assign personnel, set priorities, monitor progress, and resolve problems to complete the production plan. Report results on shift production summaries.
  • Work closely with the supervisor and production manager to plan schedules, assignments, and production sequences, and to maintain a level-loaded finished goods inventory.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current output.
  • Keep component inventory stocked and ensure materials reach production cells on time.
  • Participate in the daily production meeting with production management, purchasing, and customer service to meet daily and weekly shipments and target inventory levels.
  • Enforce safety standards and complete safety documentation. Keep the work environment clean and compliant by training and directing personnel on equipment, control points, and resources.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors and leads across departments and cells.
  • Work with Maintenance leaders to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance, and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
  • Report cell, employee, and plant performance data used for Plant KPIs (on-time delivery, overtime, attendance, scrap, and cell efficiency), and create and implement corrective actions when targets are missed.
  • Work with the supervisor and management to resolve work problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Recommend improvements after analyzing operating practices and staffing needs, and help the team through change.

What You'll Bring

  • Two-year college degree in business, engineering, or a related field from an accredited school, OR at least 2 years of manufacturing leadership experience, OR a combination of the two.
  • Background in manufacturing, production, automotive, or related fields.
  • Ability to use and analyze data in Excel and other related software, and to navigate computer systems comfortably.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Ability to correct, discipline, or counsel employees when necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including various shifts and weekends if the need arises.
  • Authorization to work in the USA.

Physical Requirements
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, and twisting, and the manual dexterity to use hand tools and measuring instruments. You must be able to read gauges, blueprints, and work instructions, and safely navigate a manufacturing floor with moving equipment. Required PPE, including safety glasses at all times and hearing protection where required, must be worn. Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, moderate to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, metal dust, oils, and lubricants. Required PPE and adherence to all company safety policies are mandatory.
