PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of this position is to translate engineering documents and/or standards into Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing structures within the companys ERP/MRP system to generate shop orders and standard cost for all manufactured products.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:

This position must be able to interpret drawings and apply engineering standards needed to create accurate BOM and routings in the MRP/ERP System. The MRP/ERP system will utilize this data to generate the shop paper required to direct product throughout the appropriate work centers while consuming the required materials.

This position must communicate with design, programming, purchasing, customer service, manufacturing, engineering and scheduling to ensure all requirements are met to ensure the structure is complete and accurate based on the product intent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

1) Must be able to interpret design drawings in order to accurately create BOM and routing structures for product so that the product can flow through the appropriate manufacturing work centers while driving accurate material requirements throughout.

2) Must be able to communicate back to design engineering when prints need to be modified due to error or not meeting Pan-Oston manufacturing techniques.

3) Help to develop and maintain work center routing standards to ensure that the product costing is accurately reflecting Pan-Ostons manufacturing processes/techniques.

4) Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects at once. If necessary, when information is not available to complete a project, this position will need to divert to another project to maintain constant output of work.

5) If necessary, when information is not available this position must actively seek out additional information to complete the project on-time with precise input.

6) As needed, perform time studies as product flows through the shop and update routings accordingly.

7) Follow established engineering standards and calculations.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)

1) Print reading and interpretation

2) Good verbal and written communication skills

3) Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

4) Highly Motivated, Goal Oriented, Self-Starter

5) Excellent Organizational Skills

6) Experience with data entry (ability to type: 10-key a plus)

7) Microsoft Excel

8) Basic MRP/ERP understanding

9) Strong attention to detail

10) Ability to work in a fast paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, basic hand functions

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED:

CAD based software programs, Various computer software.

EDUCATION: High school (Technical college preferred)

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Preferred to have CAD Training and/or knowledge.

OTHER: Microsoft Office

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Preferred 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment. Need to have experience in Reading design prints with strong computer skills. Sheet metal knowledge preferred but not required.

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR ABILITIES WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR THE JOB?

Need to be self motivated with good organizational skills. Need to be able to prioritize jobs as well as be able to multitask. Good communication skills (oral and written) are required as this position communicates with the production floor, design, purchasing, customer service, manufacturing engineering, scheduling, etc.
