Manufacturing Supervisor IIPosition Overview
Shaw is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor for the finishing department on third shift to ensure production of finished carpet through the wet end of either coater by managing people, machinery, and the manufacturing process. This person will also assist the Department Manager and Process Engineer in improving the coating process.

Essential Duties:
Manage the finishing department by effectively disseminating information to all wet end personnel (from sew-on to coater operator) regarding company matters.
Maintain Production, communicate with department management, other departments, production scheduling, plant management to ensure the most efficient production possible
This includes reporting any problems that will significantly affect the flow of production
Prioritize to and closely monitor the progress of special orders, rush orders, trial orders and other productions runs of interest, as defined by department management
Use Shopflex to process inventory
Strive to reduce cost of production while remaining consistent with the values and objectives of safety, quality, and service
Maintain inventories in raw materials, finished compound, greige goods, backing and cores by working with suppliers
Work with Production Planning to set coating schedule
Collaborate with line associates, maintenance mechanics and electricians, department management to address faulty equipment, unsafe equipment, etc.
Write work orders and submit to maintenance
Ensure housekeeping of department and equipment
Measuring effectiveness via an inspection and charting system
Set and monitor equipment and process specifications
Work with other supervisors to administer the safety rules and regulations to ensure maximum compliance by everyone in the department, including management
Tour the entire department daily, with particular attention to housekeeping, and take whatever corrective actions necessary to ensure the department is safe, clean, and orderly
Set and monitor departmental goals and objectives
Support Department Management with shift reports, regular meetings
Be proactive in seeking out opportunities to assist as well as follow through on anything asked of them by these individuals
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Previous experience in manufacturing required.
Previous experience as Lead, Fill-In Supervisor or Supervisor within the most recent 5 years required.
Carpet Dyeing Experience preferred.
