Starting Pay $27 - $34/hour, depending on education, experience, and training

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for receiving, storing, packaging, processing, and distribution of materials in conjunction with the scheduling of work orders, tools, equipment, maintenance, and the personnel needed to meet customer requirements and management objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 

  • Execute scheduled production plan.
  • Directly supervise employees in General Fabrication and CNC.
  • Ship orders on time.
  • Determine the production schedules based on customer order requirements.
  • Transport material and goods from receiving, storage, or production areas to various processing, shipping and storage locations.
  • Supervises employees to make certain production objectives are met.
  • Train employees on the job, as needed, to improve knowledge and skills for various procedures to include, but not limited to, blueprint reading, job order interpretation and general product inspections.
  • Partner with both employees and managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments to include, but not limited to, requesting cut material from distribution and working products through various stages of fabrication.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees to make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure that all ISO quality forms for each procedure regarding production are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Organize storage and processing areas to make most efficient use of space and handling requirements.
  • Maintain inventory control of work-in-progress and stored material.
  • Submit weekly reports directly to Director of Manufacturing.
  • Develop and recommend changes to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of the manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related supervisory experience in an industrial setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical certificate, associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet software, inventory software, and BAI.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines set forth in the production schedule.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lift, move, or position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Walk or stand for length of shift.
