Job Overview:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of injection molding machine operators, including assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

  • Manage production runs according to work orders, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

  • Monitor machine performance, identify and troubleshoot issues.

  • Oversee and assist with mold changeovers and setups. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime.

  • Oversee quality control procedures, inspect molded parts for defects, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Maintain accurate production records and daily reports on IQMS, including machine logs, quality control data, and production outputs.

  • Continuously improve processes to optimize efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce costs.

  • Train and develop team members on injection molding techniques, safety procedures, and quality control standards.

  • Perform weekly safety meetings and employee performance reviews.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, enforce all safety regulations, and report any safety hazards.

  • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Communicate with management, quality control, maintenance, and other shift supervisors to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and resolve production issues.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the injection molding industry.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team with a positive can-do attitude

  • Strong understanding of company systems, processes, equipment and procedures

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to use forklift in a safe manner

  • Excellent knowledge of quality control principles and procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production software (preferred)

  • Ability to make timely fact-based decisions; shows good judgment

  • Ability to work independently and handle projects to completion

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to oversee and drive quality improvement projects

  • Must be on time and dependable

  • Strong commitment to safety and a proven ability to maintain a safe work environment.
