Manufacturing Supervisor

Location: Grimes, IA

Salary: $70,000–$80,000/year

A growing manufacturing company in the Grimes area is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead day-to-day production operations and a frontline manufacturing team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, developing employees, solving problems, and keeping production moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production employees across manufacturing and material handling
• Manage daily staffing, scheduling, attendance, and overtime
• Ensure daily and weekly production goals are met
• Monitor productivity, quality, equipment downtime, and workflow
• Coach, train, and develop employees
• Address performance and attendance issues when needed
• Promote and enforce workplace safety expectations
• Work closely with maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, and other departments
• Lead daily start-up meetings and communicate production priorities
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and labor documentation

What We're Looking For

• Previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience
• Comfortable managing performance, attendance, and accountability
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity expectations
• Experience with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement practices is a plus
