Job Summary:    

A Manufacturing Supervisor will provide leadership and direction in the attainment of daily/monthly operations goals; is responsible for continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery and productivity. 

Duties and Expectations:

  • Directly lead an operations team through application of learned skills and abilities in leadership.
  • Responsible for daily operations on the production floor, including leading leaders, scheduling, staffing, training and troubleshooting to ensure that all operations are in full compliance and meet or exceed safety guidelines.
  • Facilitate departmental workflow to achieve optimal productivity while maintaining high standards on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing organizational standards and legal regulations. Lead proactive risk mitigation efforts.
  • Inspire, develop and retain passionate people to work as one team to continue the success of our Ariens legacy.
  • Lead and encourage cross-functional collaboration. Be a conduit between operations, HR, quality, engineering, marketing, supply chain, etc.
  • Develop the team’s talent: recruit, select and orientate new team members.
  • Lead by example. Motivate, inspire and develop team members. Provide coaching and development opportunities, recognize successes, and identify future leaders.
  • Coach to achieve excellence and recognize success. Facilitate 2-way conversations that develop team members to their fullest potential. Identify future leaders and support their progression.
  • Help the team understand performance targets and goals in ways that align with the company’s plans and vision.
  • Lead in objectively appraising employee performance.
  • Lead in situations that may require disciplinary action.
  • Effectively resolve employee conflicts that may arise.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Completion of or continuing education towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree prefer
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers (internal/external)
  • Ability to define and solve problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of plant operations experience in various leadership roles
  • Prior sign experience preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Read and understand product schematics along with assembly instructions
  • Strong coaching expertise and knowledge of leadership development
  • Strong project management experience
