Job Description

Maintains USPC Laboratory with minimal guidance. Perform daily testing of finished Casino product ,accurately maintain database of testing results and publish the performance trends. Maintains calibration of all critical laboratory equipment. Improve upon existing methods and frequency to meet customer needs and provide early detection of product performance deviations. Special testing as needed to support customer issues, operational needs and R & D development projects.

Measurable areas include weekly finished goods testing and scheduled calibration of testing equipment.

Yearly renewal of VEST certification.

What you’ll do as an Lab Coordinator:

  • Responsible for Laboratory Cleanliness, Housekeeping, Organization and VEST to include 5-S,safety, and Quality certifications.
  • Perform Routing Product Testing on Finished Decks - Prioritized by risk & critical nature of products.
  • Maintain "FAB 5" database, publish data and communicate trends, and alert manufacturing when deviations are observed.
  • Unique - non-routine - product testing related to internal manufacturing problems
  • Unique - non-routine - product testing related to customer complaint analysis
  • Assist with the development of unique tests specific to unique problems
  • Competitive deck testing and reporting of comparisons verses USPC products.
  • Perform Routine testing in support of Product Development trials
  • Responsible for Calibration of all Laboratory Test Equipment.

We’re looking for an Lab Coordinator with:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong Organization skills
  • Exhibit a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Computer competence including spreadsheet, database, and word processing is required.
  • Detail-oriented and able to check own work and detect own data collection and data entry errors.
  • Must be able to enter data, summarize data and produce simple trends & graphs.
  • Able to learn and utilize MINITAB statistical software to draw statistically sound conclusions.
  • Must be able to train others.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school or GED required - Some college preferred.
  • Experience in quality and laboratory methods required.
  • Problem solving skills needed.
  • Work related experience in a process improvement environment preferred.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 20% of work time, standing and walking approximately 80%.
  • Lift / push / pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to twist, reach, squat, kneel, and bend.
  • Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects and ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Involves moderate risks or discomforts and special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, pallets, trucks and machines.
  • Employees are required to use hearing protection, safety shoes. Hands-on factory and manufacturing environment. This position is located on-site in our Erlanger, KY facility.
