Here’s the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking a proven, hands-on, experienced, and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Manufacturing Quality Engineer within our Mohawk Valley Fab. This person will be responsible for ensuring execution of customer and Wolfspeed quality requirements for our SiC wafer products. This includes execution and ownership of the core quality business processes such as change management, non-conformance management, structured problem solving, FMEA, internal and external audits.

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer reports to the Sr Manager of Manufacturing Quality and is based in Marcy, NY. This person will be a key leader in our journey to transforming the fab to high volume production. To be successful, this person will be a highly driven, self-motivated leader who is comfortable operating with cross functional engineering team as well as communicating to senior leadership. They will help to create total quality culture that is responsive to customers’ needs and adept at continual improvement across multiple operational functions.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Manage and drive timely closure of internal and customer corrective actions, collaborating with business teams, factories, and other support organizations.
  • Interface with fab leaders and engineering teams on technical evaluation of production issues.
  • Lead and support Quality Management activities such as audits, problem-solving, feedback to customers, and chairing core quality business processes.
  • Work with the internal technical organizations and teams to ensure high quality products are achieved and that customer expectations are met.
  • Work to quickly identify and diagnose quality issues during production ramp..
  • Drive documentation and review of product quality related topics for customers.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Direct, manage and coordinate activities of cross-functional groups outside of the quality organization to achieve customer quality requirements.
  • Receive assignments in the form of broad objectives and translate into detailed action plans to meet objectives.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.
  • Minimum 5 years experience.
  • Knowledge in semiconductor quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
  • The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Experience with supporting IATF 16949 certification or auditing to the IATF 16949:2016 standard.
  • Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders throughout an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead highly technical teams
  • Ability to work in large, complex, global environment.

The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compensation Range:

$114,000.00 - $156,000.00
