Job Overview:

**Position Summary:**

The Quality Assurance Engineer is the quality representative for P3. The quality engineer coordinates activities for the department including the administrative approach for quality control of P3 Products. The quality representative provides, planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of our quality system to ensure high quality in P3 products and processes, as well as provides technical, process, and program support to our various departments, suppliers, and customers.

**Key Result Areas:**

Under general supervision of the general manager, lead and manage the quality function. Work demands discretion and independent judgment. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Lead, analyze, report and provide corrective action to integrate and ensure quality in the company, its programs, products, and culture to enhance long term viability of the organization.
  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Provide oversight of all company product and process and advise management of developments which may affect safety, quality, customer relations and/or interdepartmental relations.
  • Plan, coordinate, budget, and direct department activities including efficiently inspect/measure to confirm quality
  • Assess programmatic, departmental, and company activities and risks to make improvements for more consistent and predictable product and service.

2. Build and manage resources, processes, systems, and controls to effectively execute the quality function.

  • Plan, develop, implement, defend, and maintain our ISO9000/AS9100 quality system as management representative.
  • Maintain and continually improve quality methodologies used in the department and company and recommend/develop new systems, methodologies, and technologies which may improve quality and/or capabilities in the future.
  • Oversee company activities, data, documentation, and deliverables for compliance with stated requirements.
  • Evaluate quality activities and initiatives relative to company goals; prepare and present periodic reports showing applicable metrics and statistics.
  • Direct internal audits involving review of quality systems and controls.

3. Collaborate with all departments to ensure that information and data transfers effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.

  • Ensure inspections are performed properly and promptly to minimize downtime with zero quality escapes.

  • Perform inspections using both automated CMM and manual inspection methods.

  • Maintain calibration system including calibration records and due dates.

  • Document inspection and complete applicable FAI to AS9102 format as well as support operations in first piece inspections.

  • Communicate cross-functionally with other departments to discuss part, inspection and material problems; reporting complications that interfere with the product schedule. Monitor inspection, production and assembly nonconformances to provide data to support countermeasures and corrective/preventative actions.

  • Oversee training to ensure all employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer quality policies, procedures, and regulations.

4. Provide effective communication and reporting to ensure all stakeholders are working together.

  • Investigate, communicate, and coordinate quality related inquiries, audit, and reporting preparation, submission, and resolution with outside organizations.
  • Prepare and communicate the quality assurance philosophy and system, technical and program information to appropriate personnel in the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

Education and Training

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an technical discipline; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; extra consideration for engineering disciplines

Experience:

· Three years’ experience in quality engineering or quality assurance with a minimum of one year of complex metal machine part inspection experience - aerospace environment preferable.

· Three years’ experience with recognized quality systems (ISO, AS, QS, TS)

· Strong understanding of GD&T

Other:

· Must be willing to work overtime as required

· Travel up to 20% of working time.

Desired Job Qualification:

· Applicable training certificates (CQE, CQA, CQT) are desirable.

· Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ 5S or other QA related certifications

Skills:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

· Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, enterprise resource planning, and database software. Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and CMM software is desirable.

· Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by P3, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on P3 or the client’s property or job site.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· High attention to detail

· Ability to successfully plan and implement objectives within established timelines and work schedules.

· Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions at both strategic and functional levels.

· Demonstrate behavior consistent with company values

· Ability to work independently, with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter and within a team oriented culture

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
