Fischer Paper Products is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations, coach and develop employees, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing facility The ideal candidate has experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment and understands the challenges associated with paper converting, printing, packaging, and high-speed production operations. Experience working with paper rolls, cylinders, inks, adhesives, coatings, printing presses, slitters, rewinders, and converting equipment is highly desirable. This individual is a hands-on leader who enjoys developing employees, solving production challenges, and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
Lead and Develop Your Team
- Supervise, coach, and support production employees to achieve daily operational goals.
- Create a positive, engaged, and accountable work environment.
- Provide performance feedback, employee development, and ongoing coaching.
- Support workforce planning, scheduling, attendance management, and staffing needs.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with employees to identify growth opportunities and career development paths.
- Promote employee engagement through recognition, communication, and team-building initiatives.
Drive Production Excellence
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity expectations are achieved.
- Coordinate resources and manpower to meet customer demands and production schedules.
- Lead shift operations while ensuring efficient workflow and equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve production challenges.
- Analyze production performance and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Train and Develop Employees
- Lead hands-on training for machine operators and production employees.
- Support onboarding and training programs for new hires.
- Develop cross-training opportunities to strengthen workforce flexibility.
- Identify skill gaps and create development plans that support employee success.
- Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the operation.
Troubleshoot and Improve Processes
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment, process, and production issues.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles to improve operational performance.
- Support implementation of process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Quality, Safety & Food Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP requirements.
- Support a safe working environment through leadership and employee accountability.
- Partner with Quality teams to investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure products consistently meet company and customer quality standards.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, coaching, and team leadership skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with production metrics and operational performance measures.
- Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Experience in paper converting, printing, packaging, or roll-to-roll manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience working with paper grades, converting equipment, cylinders, printing presses, inks, adhesives (glue), coatings, and related manufacturing processes preferred.
- Knowledge of flexographic printing, roll handling, web tension control, and print quality standards is a plus.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in paper converting, packaging, food manufacturing, or related industries.
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience training employees and leading workforce development initiatives.
- Project management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience driving employee engagement, retention, and team development programs.
