Job Title

Manufacturing Process Engineer I

Responsible for foundational aspects of the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing solutions (including tool path) for standard manufacturing processes, tools, and production methods through the application of professional accepted engineering principles and techniques. Provide support and input for process/product improvement, quality control, and customer service.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Involved in problem solving activities for complex issues that involve the given process and associated equipment. Demonstrate ability to execute on mid-size projects.

• Actively develop expertise in Lean Six Sigma and process methodologies through hands-on training, practical application in projects, and guidance from project leaders or senior-level colleagues.

• Collaborate with location manufacturing management to deliver yield and process improvements at their location.

• Maintain, analyze, and improve various types of equipment/processes, including electronic and mechanical equipment, to improve efficiency and utilization of resources.

• Learn various ceramic processing techniques and materials related to material forming processes. CNC tooling path set up or updates

• Utilize Structured Problem Solving (SPS) and Process Control System (PCS) methodologies to maintain and improve product and process quality.

• Aid in technology transfers to meet production requirements.

• Follow change management procedures, manage implementations and sustain results.

• Perform detail-oriented analysis utilizing high math skills and effective communication skills.

• Must maintain high safety requirements including meeting local consensus safety standards.

• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

• Must be willing to work on production floor for extended periods.


Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline.

• Mechanical Engineering degree, or similar, preferred.


Experience:

• 0-3 Years, experience in manufacturing environment a plus. Desired experience in CNC machining a plus.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Analytical/Critical Thinking - Analyze data to identify root causes, develop strategies for routine issues, recommend process improvements, and evaluate solutions with flexibility and critical thinking.

• Building Relationships - Recognize others meaningfully and frequently, use feedback to build confidence and respect, adapt communication to workplace styles, and actively participate in team-building activities.

• Business Acumen - Understand the impact of your work on internal/external customers, explain strategic impact of your contributions, and identify priorities and strategies for completing goals and tasks.

• Communication - Communicate using empathy, influence, and an adaptive approach, to accurately and persuasively create dialogue.

• Data Analysis - Independently design and conduct data analysis using advanced techniques to identify trends, anticipate risks, and influence stakeholders, through data visualization/storytelling.

• Mathematical Reasoning - Understand and apply complex mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry, work with various 2D and 3D coordinate systems, apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing requirements, and write and troubleshoot simple formulas in Excel or similar software.

• Project Management - Lead projects through all phases, from initiation to closing, by defining scope, planning resources, managing teams, ensuring effective communication, and documenting progress and results.

• Technology Use - Independently operate common technology platforms (e.g., InfinityQS, Service Center, Analytical Lab, etc.), and use job aids and help documentation to resolve issues.

• Materials Knowledge - Work to develop a general understanding of materials and their characteristics.

• Time Management - Determine task priorities, avoid multitasking and procrastination, understand appropriate time allocation for tasks, set boundaries to prevent overwork, and eliminate unproductive tasks.

• Software knowledge: MS Office applications and SolidWorks are required. Experience with MasterCAM, or CNC programming, a plus.
