Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer with a strong background in aerospace and industrial manufacturing processes to support and optimize production operations in our precision turned product facility. This role involves the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for aerospace and industrial components, with a focus on precision-turned products.

  • Create and maintain process documentation including process drawings, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flow diagrams.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production) to transition new products into production.

  • Design tooling and fixtures for CNC turning, milling, and secondary operations, ensuring robust and repeatable processes.

  • Specify and implement new equipment and automation to enhance manufacturing capabilities and reduce labor content.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and non-conformances.

  • Support AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance, ensuring all processes meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead cost reduction and yield improvement projects to enhance competitiveness.

  • Analyze and optimize cycle times, setup times, and machine utilization rates.

  • Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in precision machining or aerospace/industrial sectors.

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining (lathe and mill), tooling, and GD&T.

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace/industrial manufacturing standards.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.

  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Typical manufacturing environment with regular exposure to shop floor activity.

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.

  • Occasional travel may be required for vendor visits or customer support.
