Job Overview:

Seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer to support operations in our production facility. Ideal candidates will be safety-minded and have experience with roll forming, progressive stamping or metal forming process. Must also be strongly skilled with machine troubleshooting.  What You’ll Be Doing: 

Develop, improves and implements manufacturing processes.  Improve the efficiencies of individual operations and the facility as a whole. Review product designs for compliance with good engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications. Coordinate activities connected with technical developments.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties as assigned.

  • Process implementation for new and existing products/tools.
  • Develop production processes that are capable, sustainable and repeatable. 
  • Help with Preventative Maintenance Management.
  • Update equipment database.
  • Maximization gross rate of all processes on assigned lines and in assigned work centers. 
  • Minimization of scrap and waste for all processes on assigned lines and in assigned work centers. 
  • Minimize set up time durations for all processes on assigned lines and in assigned work centers. 
  • Assist Quality Assurance in qualifying gauges and other measuring devices to be used in or on production processes. 
  • Primary troubleshooting interface for production problems and issues on assigned lines and in assigned work cells that cannot be addressed by production and maintenance. 
  • Continuous improvement of all processes on assigned lines and in assigned work cells.   
  • Collect, manage and report strategic and tactical data for all assigned lines and work cells, as required by CI efforts, New Production Launch process, and RFC Corporate Strategic Metrics. 
  • Determine bottleneck for gross and net production rates for all products on assigned lines and work cells and determine requirements to eliminate. 
  • Utilize in-house software to create feeder programs for all production processes in assigned lines and work cells. 
  • Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams. 
  • May do industrial engineering work, including time studies. 
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program.

 

Schedule: This overtime-exempt and will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 7AM – 4PM Monday to Friday or similar.

 Work Environment -   The performance of the position requires exposure to typical office areas and manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection.  The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.   Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.  The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, airborne particles, and vibration.  The noise level in the manufacturing area is usually loud.  

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field of study.
  • One to three years related hands-on experience in manufacturing/factory setting. 
  • Experience or desire to be in in customer-facing role in support of quality and/or product launches. 
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products and CAD software; ability to learn/use manufacturing software Global Shop Solutions.
  • US Person or meets ITAR/EAR requirements.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10% at times.
  • Local candidate or willingness to relocate to within 45 miles of Farrell, PA facility (not a remote-eligible position)

 Preferred Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical)
  • Two or more years’ experience in tryout or R&D
  • Familiar with:
    1. PFMEA, SPC, GD&T
    2. Metal forming
    3. Lean manufacturing
    4. PLC, electrical controls, programming
    5. Quality certification systems (ISO)
