Job Overview:

Help keep production moving, teams aligned, and customer commitments on track in a role that makes a visible difference every day.

Why you’ll love this role:

You’ll be at the center of production planning—partnering across teams, solving real-time challenges, and helping create a smooth, efficient flow of work from planning to completion.

About the role:

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Manufacturing Planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys turning complexity into clarity. In this role, you’ll build and maintain production schedules, coordinate across departments, and help ensure work is ready to move efficiently through the shop.

You’ll play an important part in keeping teams aligned, reducing disruptions, and supporting on-time delivery. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating with production, engineering, and supply chain partners to solve problems and improve flow.

We value teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and clear communication. If you take pride in staying organized, anticipating needs, and helping others succeed, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain production schedules across work centers to support customer commitments and shop priorities.
  • Balance workload with labor capacity, equipment availability, and operational constraints.
  • Partner with production, engineering, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure jobs are ready before release.
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify bottlenecks, and make thoughtful adjustments to keep work moving.
  • Track material shortages and help resolve issues that may affect production timelines.
  • Maintain accurate production orders, allocations, and planning data in the ERP system.
  • Support process improvements that increase scheduling accuracy, reduce delays, and improve overall efficiency.

Why this role matters:

This role has a direct impact on shop efficiency, team coordination, and on-time delivery. Your planning work helps create structure, reduce disruption, and make sure the right work is ready at the right time.

Required knowledge & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3–5+ years in manufacturing, production planning, or scheduling
  • Strong understanding of shop operations and workflow
  • Experience working with ERP or production tracking systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with capacity planning and resource loading
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and BOMs
  • Familiarity with welding/fabrication processes
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, vessels, or industrial equipment
  • Key strengths for success
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear, direct communication and the ability to build trust across teams.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and execution.
  • Confidence identifying constraints, escalating issues, and helping drive solutions.

Work environment:

This role includes both office and shop interaction. Candidates should be comfortable spending extended time at a computer, communicating clearly, and occasionally working in environments with noise, temperature changes, humidity, fumes, or airborne particles. A valid driver’s license may be required for business-related travel or site movement.

Physical requirements: This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
