The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of Assembly, Paint, Logistics, Receiving, and Material Planning to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement in safety performance, lead time reduction, first-pass yield (“right the first time”), and on-time delivery. The Operations Manager will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on meeting production goals, improving processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across Assembly, Paint, Logistics, Receiving, and Planning functions through effective leadership of Value Stream Managers and their teams.
- Ensure production schedules are met with optimal resource utilization.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, employee engagement, productivity, cost efficiency, delivery, and speed.
- Drive lead time improvements through process optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and waste reduction.
- Ensure “right the first time” quality through robust standard work, error-proofing, and training.
Planning & Prioritization
- Collaborate with Planning and Scheduling to align production priorities with customer demand.
- Work with Value Stream Managers to ensure material flow and logistics are efficient, minimizing bottlenecks and inventory issues.
- Balance short-term production goals with long-term strategic improvement initiatives.
- Implement systems and processes to ensure visibility and alignment of priorities across departments and value streams.
Safety
- Champion a strong safety-first culture by setting clear expectations and ensuring compliance with all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks through audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Foster a workplace environment that prioritizes employee well-being and continuous safety improvement.
People Development & Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor Managers, supervisors, team leads, and staff to build a culture of ownership, teamwork, and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and establish clear development plans for direct reports.
- Encourage problem-solving and continuous learning throughout the operations team.
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent aligned with company values and operational needs.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support Lean initiatives focused on waste elimination, process flow improvement, and cost reduction.
- Utilize root cause problem-solving and data-driven decision-making to sustain improvements.
- Promote collaboration across departments and value streams to streamline handoffs and improve communication.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience, including 5+ years of supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience managing multiple functional areas.
- Proven success in leading safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
