The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes within a die-casting environment. This role focuses on CNC programming, tool and fixture design, and technical drafting to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support new and existing products from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes for aluminum die casting product.
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions to support machining and secondary operations
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and documentation using CAD software
  • Support new product launches by developing machining strategies, tooling concepts, and process documentation
  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to improve quality, cycle time, and throughput
  • Collaborate with die casting, machining, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Review part designs for manufacturability and recommend design or process improvements
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, setup sheets, and work instructions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Work with vendors and suppliers on tooling fabrication, modifications, and repairs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (Vertical and/or Horizontal Milling)
  • Experience with tool design, fixture design, and machining processes
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for design and drafting (MasterCAM, Pro-Engineer Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerancing, and GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with aluminum material and/or die castings
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
