Summary

The Manufacturing Manager – Paper Machine will provide leadership and direction for manufacturing operations while overseeing experienced professionals and supervisors. This position is responsible for operational and financial results, people management, scheduling, technical problem-solving, and departmental performance. The ideal candidate will bring extensive related manufacturing experience, strong process and people leadership capabilities, and broad technical expertise.

As a Manufacturing Manager – Paper Machine you will:

  • Lead and direct manufacturing operations and provide guidance to supervisors and experienced professionals.

  • Monitor and drive operational and financial performance within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Manage two or more direct reports and provide leadership, coaching, and employee development.

  • Oversee people-management activities including hiring, training, rewarding, developing, and managing employee performance.

  • Lead one or more operating sections or a small department.

  • Adjust departmental plans and priorities to address short-term operational and production challenges.

  • Serve as an advisor to team members to ensure schedules are achieved and technical problems are resolved.

  • Evaluate complex operational issues and determine appropriate solutions based on manufacturing and technical requirements.

  • Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements.

  • Support departmental budget responsibilities as required.

  • Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures across assigned work areas.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing operations support overall departmental and business objectives.

  • Interact with internal personnel and external representatives to resolve operational and scheduling issues.

  • Participate in and present during internal and external meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions resulting from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities.

  • Identify and report conditions that could result in unsafe food or noncompliance with SQF procedures.

Qualifications

  • Extensive related manufacturing and operations leadership experience.

  • Strong process and people leadership capabilities.

  • Broad technical expertise within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing experienced professionals and/or supervisors.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve operational and financial objectives.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, scheduling, and production priorities.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and technical issues.

  • Experience developing employees and improving team performance.

  • Strong business acumen and results-oriented leadership.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively across departments and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working within SQF requirements or a food-safe manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 15 years of related experience, OR

  • Master's degree with 13 years of related experience.

Salary Range:

Pay:

$117,100–$140,000
