Overview
Join our dynamic team in sunny San Diego, CA, as a Manufacturing Machinist! We are looking for skilled individuals who are passionate about precision and quality in manufacturing. This role requires an intermediate level of experience, with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot machining issues, and ensure that production meets quality standards and specifications. The Machinist will collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to ensure efficient production and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various types of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders, Also
operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and/or manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in machining, including operating CNC or manual machines.
- Experience with reading blueprints, drawings, and CAD models.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Intermediate knowledge of machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code/M-code).
- Familiarity with ERP systems for tracking job orders and inventory.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of machining tools and equipment, including CNC machines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
