Job Duties
- Perform processing, assembly, fabrication, and other manufacturing production duties across multiple departments as assigned, using hand and power tools.
- Follow work instructions, visual method sheets, and supervisor guidance.
- Perform assembly operations on parts with a variety of tools including small hammers, screw drivers and various hand tools;
- Perform cleaning operations on parts as required;
- Complete deburring processes including sanding, filing, and cleaning.
- Operate machinery such as drill presses, tumblers, and sandblasters.
- Set-up and properly operate the PEM insertion machines with supervisor/WGL guidance.
- Perform drilling, countersinking, and tapping on various parts per print, using a Bridgeport and tapping machine;
- Working from travelers; checking prints, correct counts, wanding etc.;
- Recording PCP information as required per job;
- Perform masking, demasking, gluing, and surface preparation.
- Responsible for preparing layout, saw cut all raw materials to comply with routings, logs or authorized supervisor’s directives;
- If required, unload all raw materials from freight carriers and suppliers in accordance with CMC company policy and procedures;
- Maintain all equipment in saw area in proper working order on a daily or scheduled basis and other equipment while under his/her control;
- Process all raw materials and processed materials under his/her control to properly mark, package and stock in accordance with company procedures;
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
- The ability to complete visual and dimensional inspections of parts under the guidance of group inspector or Supervisor;
- Package parts and prepare documentation for shipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Transport materials and support production flow.
- Assist with hazardous waste handling and comply with safety procedures.
- Cross-train in all departments and machinery and maintain a full-scope understanding of the production process
Required Experience/Credentials:
- High school or trade school graduate with good mechanical capabilities;
- Ability to use calipers or measuring devices to meet department requirements a plus;
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and have a cooperative, team spirit;
- Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 50 lbs.;
- May be required to work up to 10 overtime hours per week and may be temporarily assigned to other areas of the shop;
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
- Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
- Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
