Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer plays a pivotal role within the engineering team, responsible for assessing and determining the manufacturability of product designs. This position requires a keen understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that product designs can be produced efficiently, economically, and to the highest quality standards. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Engineer evaluates customers’ products including specifications to develop manufacturing plans and produce the products according to the customer’s needs.
  • Review 3D CAD and Product drawings individually and with a Team to develop Process Development, cycle time analysis, joining requirements, Ergonomic evaluations.
  • Provide timely feedback and follow up to Sales, Engineering and Program Management
  • Document steps via feasibility worksheet and update in PLEX.
  • Good Communication skills / Self motivated
  • Follow up constantly.
  • Elevate issues for resolution.

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Attention to Detail as it relates to the customer part(s) and success of working Teams to define manufacturing feasibility
  • Ability to understand process flow and timing.
  • NX CAD software (secondary)
  • CATIA software (secondary)
  • Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Good Communication skills / Self motivated
  • Follow up constantly.
  • Elevate issues for resolution.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred. 
  • At least 5 years’ related experience required.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
