Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer plays a pivotal role within the engineering team, responsible for assessing and determining the manufacturability of product designs. This position requires a keen understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that product designs can be produced efficiently, economically, and to the highest quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Engineer evaluates customers’ products including specifications to develop manufacturing plans and produce the products according to the customer’s needs.
- Review 3D CAD and Product drawings individually and with a Team to develop Process Development, cycle time analysis, joining requirements, Ergonomic evaluations.
- Provide timely feedback and follow up to Sales, Engineering and Program Management
- Document steps via feasibility worksheet and update in PLEX.
- Good Communication skills / Self motivated
- Follow up constantly.
- Elevate issues for resolution.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to Detail as it relates to the customer part(s) and success of working Teams to define manufacturing feasibility
- Ability to understand process flow and timing.
- NX CAD software (secondary)
- CATIA software (secondary)
- Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Good Communication skills / Self motivated
- Follow up constantly.
- Elevate issues for resolution.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
