Richard Childress Racing Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Manufacturing Estimator & Customer Requirements Analyst to join our growing team. This role serves as the critical link between our customers and manufacturing operations by evaluating customer requirements, developing accurate quotations, and ensuring all technical specifications are properly communicated throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision machining and manufacturing processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documentation while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings, models, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate manufacturing quotations.
- Analyze customer requirements to determine manufacturing processes, material requirements, machining strategies, and inspection needs.
- Prepare and deliver timely, competitive quotations while ensuring profitability and manufacturability.
- Review and process customer purchase orders, verifying compliance with quoted scope and customer-specific requirements.
- Translate customer expectations into clear manufacturing documentation and job requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Support new job launches by identifying manufacturing risks, opportunities, and process requirements.
- Maintain accurate quotation records and customer documentation within the company's ERP/MRP system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support the Richard Childress Racing Manufacturing Solutions Quality Management System (QMS).
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing technical support and responsive communication throughout the quoting and order review process.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, CNC machining, programming, manufacturing engineering, estimating, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of precision machining processes and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, Model-Based Definition (MBD), GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Experience evaluating manufacturability and determining efficient production methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience developing manufacturing quotations or cost estimates.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably the system utilized by RCR Manufacturing Solutions.
- Familiarity with CNC programming concepts, machining strategies, and inspection processes.
- Experience working within an AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality management system.
- Understanding of aerospace, motorsports, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
