Position Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations by improving machine utilization, resolving production issues, assisting with process development, and helping launch new equipment and processes. This position works closely with manufacturing leadership, engineering, quality, programmers, and machine operators to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and improve the safe and efficient production of quality parts.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical problem-solver who is comfortable working directly with CNC machines, tooling, production processes, and shop-floor employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Provide hands-on technical support to second-shift manufacturing operations.
· Assist with setting up, troubleshooting, and improving CNC machining processes.
· Help place new machines, equipment, tooling, and processes into production.
· Identify causes of machine downtime, production delays, scrap, and inefficient workflow.
· Work with programmers, operators, quality personnel, and leadership to resolve manufacturing problems.
· Support efforts to increase machine uptime, throughput, and unattended machining.
· Help establish processes that allow qualified operators to safely operate multiple machines.
· Review work instructions, set up documentation, engineering drawings, and production requirements.
· Assist with developing and improving standardized work, setup procedures, and process documentation.
· Recommend improvements to tooling, fixtures, work holding, machine utilization, and material flow.
· Support first-piece, in-process, and final inspection activities when necessary.
· Monitor production performance and communicate problems that may affect quality, delivery, or safety.
· Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to manufacturing issues.
· Train and provide technical guidance to machine operators on approved processes and procedures.
· Coordinate with maintenance when equipment repairs or preventive maintenance are required.
· Promote compliance with company safety rules, quality requirements, and established procedures.
· Complete other duties and improvement projects as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
Experience & Education
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Technical degrees, apprenticeships, or advanced manufacturing training are preferred.
· Three or more years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering support, process improvement, or a related technical position preferred.
· Working knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, work holding, and machining processes.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
· Familiarity with precision measuring equipment and inspection methods.
· Experience troubleshooting manufacturing or machining problems.
· Basic computer skills and the ability to document processes and production information.
· Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during second-shift operations.
· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
· Aerospace or other precision-manufacturing experience preferred.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday; however, hours may vary based on production demands and business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
