Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports Manufacturing and Process Engineers in maintaining and improving production operations through hands-on technical support and process execution. Responsibilities include troubleshooting assembly and manufacturing processes, collecting and documenting production data, supporting fixtures and tooling, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Working cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams, this role helps ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, compliant, safe, and consistently executed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support daily manufacturing operations by assisting engineers with process development, sustaining activities, and continuous process improvements.
- Support implementation of engineering changes and process updates through data collection, testing, and documentation of process improvements and production trials, while maintaining ERP and manufacturing systems, including product routings, BOMs, work instructions, and related process documentation, ensuring compliance with company quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in line setup, optimization, and reorganization activities driven by Gemba walks, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts including construction-related tasks supporting workstation readiness, part staging, equipment adjustments, prototype builds, line validations, and process validation activities.
- Troubleshoot issues related to prototypes, production assemblies, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes on the production floor.
- Support training and mentoring activities to ensure process consistency and adherence to established work instructions and procedures.
- Participate in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

Education
- Associate’s degree in engineering/technology or equivalent related experience with strong mechanical and technical aptitude may be considered.
Experience and/or Training
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, in a manufacturing environment focused on mechanical systems, with hands-on experience in assembly operations and supporting or improving manufacturing processes. (medical device industry preferred).
- Proficient in using measurement devices, hand and power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs. Work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to follow established engineering and quality procedures.
- Experience with SolidWorks, ProE, AutoCAD, or other CAD software (preferred).
- Previous experience in manufacturing ERP systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequent prolonged standing and sitting standing and walking in office, manufacturing, warehouse, or operational environments.
- Occasional bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and light lifting (up to 40 lbs., if applicable).
- Visual acuity to review data, analyze reports, and observe operational processes, with color perception required.
- Will be engaged in frequent problem-solving to evaluate complex processes and identify root causes.
- Ability to interpret data, metrics to help drive decisions.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
- Willing to work across all locations and shifts to ensure continuous support for projects and production as needed.
