We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead and oversee our chemical coatings operations. This is a working manager position ideal for a technically skilled professional with a strong background in chemical processes and a passion for driving operational excellence on the shop floor. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the development, implementation and improvement of integrated manufacturing systems and cost reduction / productivity improvement projects for the Power & Controls Air Management Systems business unit supporting the AMS business in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. You will provide leadership for flawless execution for both production and development programs. This opportunity offers the ability to positively impact manufacturing processes, quality, productivity and technology through all phases of a product life cycle, from inception to aftermarket support and across the entire suite of products.
What You Will Do
Lead and supervise daily operations of chemical coating processes, including conversion coating, Rockhard, and silver paint applications
Accountable for execution within the established metrics for productivity, cost reduction, and technology projects to improve manufacturing, assembly and test operations in Windsor Locks and at suppliers as appropriate.
Ownership responsibility of the production processes for a family of heat exchanger parts - coatings and special processes
Lead teams (including at suppliers) in support of manufacturing improvement, productivity, cost reduction projects
Develop metrics and tracking systems to identify, track, execute and complete projects with measurable milestones consistent with the program objectives
Develop risk assessments, complete with detailed mitigation plans including funding and staffing
Participate in proposals and manufacturing plans
Coordinate with the IE team to implement Lean Transformation projects
Lead root cause investigations and implement systemic corrective actions and process improvements
Coordinate Technology Development Plans (TDPs) including funding and staffing requirements
Achieve customer satisfaction, measured by feedback analysis and other metrics
Train, coach, and develop team members to build a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence
Ensure Earned Value Management System (EVMS) is implemented meeting program milestones and budgets
Prepare and support monthly program reviews
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Manufacturing experience in a chemical manufacturing or coatings environment (Aviation or aerospace is a plus)
Experience supporting or leading Nadcap certification and audits
Experience leveraging excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver successful programs
Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks, resolving complex problems, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget to customer needs.
Demonstrated project management leadership with accomplishments in a related field
Demonstrated experience leveraging strong communication, teaming and results oriented skills.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
