The McKinney Manufacturing Engineering department supporting the Surveillance Mission Area division of Raytheon is seeking a manufacturing engineer for factory production support. The individual must be self-motivated and will work with a cross functional team including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations machinists and inspection operators.

This is a first shift role (start times can vary between 6am to 9am depending on business conditions) and standard workdays will be Monday through Friday, 9/80 Schedule A is typical in the Rapid Reaction Factory. There will also be occasional weekend work. This is an on-site role in McKinney, Texas in the Consolidated Manufacturing Center.

What you will do:

  • Developing methodology to manufacture metal parts for development and production programs
  • Work with machinists, coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) programmers and Fabrication Engineers during development of the manufacturing methodology
  • Using Virtual Gibbs software to create NC programs for part manufacturing

Qualifications you must have:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a STEM related discipline with three (3) years of prior relevant experience:

Relevant experience is any combination of the following:

  • Programming using Virtual Gibbs software
  • Advanced 3D machining and 90-degree head machining
  • Experience using data storage systems and/or configuration management
  • Experience with CMM data
  • Machining / fabrication in a “first model” or prototype manufacturing

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience supporting training junior engineers or technicians in manufacturing techniques in a machine shop
  • Knowledge of data storage systems such as CPDM and Predator and how to properly store data on these systems.
  • Experience conveying CMM data results to machinist.
  • Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and how that relates to the machining process.
  • Virtual Gibbs software in all license types: 3, 4, and 5 axis machining

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
