Manufacturing Engineer Principal R33131

The Principal Operations engineer plays a critical role within in the organization being a subject matter expert being the link between engineering and operation. They will help oversee and enhance the entire product value stream with core zone control over several departments. We are looking for someone with high attention to detail, a self-starting professional that brings energy and focus to all sides of the business. This position develops and improves manufacturing processes and product quality by studying product and manufacturing methods, identifying areas of improvement, and working with manufacturing personnel to ensure plans are implemented.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for completion of a complex project on time. Will be responsible for overall project schedule, budget and manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with other engineering business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally. May have exposure to the external customers and/or industry organizations.
  • Maintain and optimize the Rear Loader product value stream through use of Tak time, Cycle Time, Yamazumi, Labor Efficiency, and other process orientated calculations.
  • Participate in the budgeting process to include recommending capital improvements and preparing justification data as required.
  • Research, study, and propose use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products.
  • Build relationships through all levels of the organization especially with our production team.
  • Execute change management through Engineering Change Notification processing, impact to operations, and execution of changes into operations.
  • Operations Engineering controls facility layouts, and product flow. Any project/enhancement implemented will require constant update of our facility layout(2D).
  • Provide subject matter expertise leadership to a large technical staff to ensure project success. Assure designs meet customer requirements, statutory requirements, and corporate objectives.
  • Provide leadership to the Business Unit (BU) engineering group as needed to support BU and Corporate business objectives. This includes the development of a strategic vision for the department as well as providing effective support for all aspects of the organization through the creation of cost effective, innovative products and processes.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office, SPC Excel, and other analysis tools.
  • Lead & Mentor: Coach peers and act as a subject matter expert on specific processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of relevant experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mastery level of data analytics which directly aids in problem solving capability.
  • Leaders Teach- Being a coach to other operations engineers on lean manufacturing and its tools.
  • Sustainment- Consistent results over time that can be detailed out or shown.
  • Extensive Industrial engineering skills and tool usage( Yamazumi, Line Balance, VSM, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment..
  • New Product Introduction experience- large scale product launches into production with minimal impact.
  • Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-Motivated: Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.
  • 6 Sigma, 5S initiatives, Kaizen events, and/or Kanban experience

Pay Range:

$91,800.00 - $153,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
