JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer-NPI

 

JOB SUMMARY 

Responsible for creating internal fabrication drawings and CNC programs for NPI (new part introduction) and ECR (Engineering change control) requests.  Evaluates manufacturing processes by developing, designing and conducting research to improve manufacturing methods by using knowledge of process design, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Utilize SolidWorks to convert customer CAD into internal fabrication drawings and Striker FabCAD to generate CNC programs, ready for sheet metal fabrication.   
  • Review and implement internal process change control requests.
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify and implement lean solutions to achieve safety, efficiency, and quality goals. 
  • Uses error proofing strategies to design and improve production processes.
  • Identify, organize, and lead teams to resolve production process and product issues. 
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure a most efficient and productive layout.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, or equivalent combination of associate’s degree and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; sheet metal fabrication/design and GD&T knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient with 3D CAD software required (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Proficient with 2D CAM software required (preferably Striker FabCAD).
  • Proficient with MS Office apps required (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • A high level of creativity with strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to create shop documentation and general work instructions; preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Six Sigma certified helpful.

Monday thru Thursday 7:00 am until 4:30 pm
Friday 7:00 am until 11:00 am
40 Hours per week
(4) 9 hour days and (1) 4 hour day.
