As a Manufacturing Engineer, New Product Introduction, you will bridge the gap between novel machine designs and production. You will focus on bringing large industrial machines and their major subassemblies to production, enhancing build and assembly efficiency, and ensuring our facility infrastructure supports these goals. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with both engineering and production teams. You will be responsible for documenting processes, managing facility support, and reporting on performance using key metrics and KPIs.

This position is based in Burlington, MA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the area, or open to relocation. Various relocation packages are available.

You are a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong background in manufacturing engineering and comfortable in industrial facilities where large-scale equipment is built, integrated, and tested. You take pride in your work and want to increase operational efficiency anywhere you can. You thrive in cross-functional environments, effectively collaborating with both design engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement robust solutions.

This role requires a high degree of technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking for root cause analysis, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position generally requires a commitment of 5 days onsite per week.

How you will do it

• Work with design engineers to influence machine designs early on, driving DFM/DFA across all JCI Stack Forging manufacturing equipment.

• Optimize machine designs, build sequences, and assembly processes for efficient production of large, complex systems.

• Develop and manage the tooling, fixtures, and lifting and rigging plans needed to safely assemble and move heavy components and completed machines.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot assembly and integration issues, and implement corrective actions.

• Support mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic integration, as well as machine testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT) prior to shipment.

• Actively seek feedback from engineering and production teams on processes and procedures.

• Be comfortable supporting various facility needs, including coordination with vendors for building maintenance and infrastructure upgrades (HVAC, compressed air, overhead cranes, floor space and power capacity for large builds, etc.).

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including machine build instructions, multi-level BOMs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems.

• Track, analyze, and report on manufacturing and facilities performance using relevant data, numbers, and KPIs, such as build hours, cycle time per machine, and first-pass test yield.

What you will need
Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant STEM field.

• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a capital equipment or industrial machinery environment.

• Demonstrated experience in optimizing production processes for large machines or complex electromechanical systems.

• Experience with heavy assembly, including crane operations, rigging, and large-scale fixturing.

• Proficiency with multiple CAD software packages, including best practices with PDM systems and large assembly management.

• Ability to manage facility infrastructure and vendor relationships.
• Ability to track and analyze production metrics with statistical analysis and the ability to present results to multiple stakeholders.

• Experience with novel manufacturing methods
• Exposure to additive manufacturing

• Experience with machine commissioning, FAT/SAT, or field installation support

SALARY RANGE: $86,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
