POSITION SUMMARY
Plans, directs, coordinates and improves manufacturing processes in production to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES

- Prepare documentation for production processes including manufacturing work instructions, standard operating procedures; and job travelers.
- Provide engineering support for pre and post production activities including Bill of Material (BOM) load into MRP, AVL verification, and Engineering Change Notice (ECN). Identify and support production quality processes and procedures to increase production throughput while minimizing returned products from customer.
- Provide necessary oversight and engineering support for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process and equipment validation, and first production unit build.
- Analyze and plan work flow of surface mount, thru-hole printed circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies. Design, sketch, implement and document the utilization of specialty assembly tools.
- The high-level technical advisor for the programming of products and technical support/maintenance. Train production operators on new machines and manufacturing processes.
- Configure and calibrate production equipment as necessary to support production needs.
- Troubleshoot common equipment failures. Repair equipment on the production floor using standard electrical and mechanical measuring equipment. Contact equipment manufacturers and suppliers when necessary.
- Manage, perform or supervise performance of periodic preventative maintenance on equipment, both electrical and mechanical with preparation of supporting paperwork.
- Assists or creates production software programs for the SMT machines, SPI, AOI and other production area equipment.
- Research and review industry trends and technological advancements by attending trade shows, reading various trade publications, and working with vendors.
- Responsible for collecting and reviewing production data from production cells to ensure implemented process improvements are sustained.
- Identifies and evaluates new tools that allow each group to perform in the most efficient manner.
- Testing newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
- Ability to review and analyze data for defect trends, determine root cause failures and implement corrective actions.
- Performs a variety of Process Engineering work in the planning and design of products,
- SMT and Wave solder operations, machines, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledgeable of stencil technology and capabilities
Qualifications
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Engineering or a minimum of 4-8 years process engineering particularly supporting Manufacturing environment, or equivalent education and job experience.
- Minimum five (5) years in electronic contract manufacturing environment a must to be considered.
- Strong understanding of IPC Military and International Standards. Prepare equipment procedures per ISO standards. IPC standards of soldering is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with pick and place equipment, screen-printing equipment, stencil designs and reflow technologies is preferred.
- SMT and Wave Solder experience a must
- Solid understanding of Solders, Fluxes, bonding chemicals used in manufacturing process.
- Expert understanding of wave solder processes, both for Leaded and Lead Free applications including theory and operation of wave solder machines.
- Create/design wave soldering fixtures and wave solder profiles.
- Working knowledge of Juki, Universal, and MyCronic is desirable.
- Ability to review schematics, assembly drawings, PWB sheets and tolerance requirements for mechanical/electrical assemblies. Good communication skills, written and oral, as well as listening skills. Ability to use computer software packages to include Microsoft Word, Excel. Internet and e-mail ability a plus
