What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Military Development to work out of our North Berwick, Maine campus. The Manufacturing Engineer, Military Development will help lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements to drive process control and dramatically improve the company’s quality and delivery signature on our Military Product Line.
The Manufacturing Engineer, Military Development will lead a specific part or part family MRL advancement through the execution of MRL elements such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plan & Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R). The scope of this role will include both Pratt & Whitney internal shop and supply chain components.
Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts; represent the organization related to MRL execution; develop standard work, procedures, and integrate industry-standard best practices
Responsbile for manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance; identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.
Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.
Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost curves and Qualification plan.
Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation of MRL gate advancements. Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress; lead projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance

Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (aerospace, industrial, mechanical, manufacturing) and 2 or more years' experience in a manufacturing operations environment or a Master's degree and 1 or more years experience in a manufacturing operations environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Hold a current U.S government issued Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret Clearance
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
CORE/Six Sigma Practitioner/professional certification
Understanding of continuous improvement concepts: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities (specifically Grind and EDM {Electro Discharge Machining})
Able to use Minitab and other statistical software
Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics
