The Manufacturing Engineer Lead will be responsible for all detailed processes in connection with manufacturing, routings, time studies, and equipment procurement. This role will review new releases for design and manufacturing and support with recommendations for new equipment and tooling. The Manufacturing Engineer Lead will provide shop support to aid in improving the coordination and collaboration between Engineering and Operations departments.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead a plant functional area team, managing training plans, performance, and development to ensure career growth of team members
  • Responsible for functional area capital budget
  • Create engineering work instructions and implement best practice systems
  • Responsible for completion of a project or parts of multiple projects of complexity on time and utilize lean/six sigma principles and methodologies in making process improvements.
  • Performs complex engineering calculations, investigations, and prepares delivery of plans, designs, computation methods and/or reporting.
  • Determine appropriate assembly fixturing that are complex in nature.
  • Review and select required special tooling and equipment.
  • Determine and improve processes to meet production levels.
  • Collaborate with Production team and Operations/Engineering teams.
  • Develop and support recommendations for new equipment and tooling.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to others within the Engineering organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience.
  • Experience in automotive assembly operations with application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in fixture and tooling design
  • Prior experience with managing data and producing charts in Excel
  • Prior leadership experience

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3D modeling experience
  • Lean six sigma black belt

Pay Range:

$82,000.00 - $132,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
