This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

In this role you will provide the integration direction for avionics systems and components. This role will require you to demonstrate your ability to proactively improve design for manufacturability, eliminate barriers, and solve unforeseen technical problems.
Responsibilities:

Develop and define avionics and harnessing build, test, and assembly processes.
Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes for avionics and harness components: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
Closely lead build sequence, quality, and schedule of hardware every day during the assembly process.
Support non-conformances and escapes and deploy recovery strategies, perform root cause analyses, and lead corrective actions.
Lead hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.
Conduct reviews for major harness and avionics assemblies prior to movement between work centers and facilities, and capture lessons learned.
Define how to prepare hardware for test, qualification, and flight.
Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test.
Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing.
Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure that hardware and equipment is manufactured, processed, packaged, and delivered accurately, on time, and on budget.
Qualifications:
Must be able to support the following shift: Monday-Friday 6AM-4PM
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
At least 5 years of direct manufacturing experience working with avionics or harnessing in support of aerospace vehicles.
Comprehensive understanding of J-STD-001, IPC-620 and IPC-610 standards
Experienced in applying commercial and military specifications and standards related to PWA, CCA, cables and harness.
Successful track record developing/starting new manufacturing processes.
Strong intuition and judgment when faced with ambiguity and the need to make high velocity decisions.
Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including solid understanding of GD&T.
A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Ability to develop processes to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
