Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer Level III, you will serve as a technical leader in the development and optimization of complex manufacturing processes. Leveraging your extensive experience, you will drive strategic initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and innovation across the organization. You will be responsible for leading large-scale projects, integrating advanced manufacturing technologies, and mentoring a team of engineers. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, the ability to solve complex engineering challenges, and a focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest standards, meeting both customer and regulatory requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Strategize, design, and lead the implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes to significantly enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure the highest quality.
  • Drive and oversee large-scale process optimization and cost reduction initiatives across multiple production lines and facilities.
  • Innovate and integrate new manufacturing technologies and techniques to advance the company’s operational capabilities on a strategic level.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive quality control systems and standards at an organizational level.
  • Conduct and lead thorough root cause analysis, developing robust corrective actions to address and prevent complex production issues.
  • Establish, monitor, and refine quality metrics and performance indicators, ensuing continuous improvement, product excellence and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide expert-level technical support to production teams, promptly resolving high-impact manufacturing issues.
  • Lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of advanced SOPs and work instructions across the organization.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers and production staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects, including new product introductions, complex process improvements and technology integrations.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management, suppliers, and external partners to integrate and implement new technologies and processes.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all engineering activities, including complex process changes and strategic improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation for diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and champion safety initiatives, ensuring rigorous compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety practices, leading safety audits, and contributing to the development of comprehensive safety training programs.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Demonstrate a deep expertise of manufacturing processes which may include injection mold, CNC machining, stamping, deep draw, compression molding, automated assembly and packaging, passivation, and coating.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials science, such as aerospace materials, composites, thermosets, thermoplastics, and adhesives.
  • Advanced technical writing skills, capable of translating complex technical information for clarity and conciseness. Skilled at tailoring content for diverse audiences, with a keen attention to detail, strong research abilities, visual communication, adherence to standards, and expertise in editing and proofreading.
  • Mastery of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques (5S, Kaizen, VSM, Kanban, JIT, Heijunka, Poka-Yoke, TPM, SMED, Standard Work, GEMBA, Takt Time, Andon and Visual Management).
  • Advanced proficiency in quality control methodologies for example, ISO 9001, visual, dimensional, NDT, destructive, functional, SPC, X-bar R/S, p, np, c, u and Cp/Cpk.
  • Working knowledge of MRP software and the data structure required, Epicor preferred.
  • Exceptional project and change management skills including, charter creation, requirements gathering, goal creation, scoping, stakeholder identification and communication, managing timelines, milestones, resources, budget, risk management, roadmap, and tracking and monitoring progress.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software SolidWorks preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills using statistics to model and prove process improvements and root cause identification, experience with MiniTab preferred. (5-whys, Fishbone, FMEA, DMAIC, Pareto, Histograms, FEA, Discrete Event Simulation, DOE, PDCA, A3, RCCA).
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated machinery and systems. Including development of control systems, integrating sensors, and programing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to optimize machine performance.
  • Well versed in emerging technologies and demonstrated ability of continuous learning habits through training, expos, reading, industry news, professional groups, networking, process adaptation and innovation in improvement.
  • Experience in process stimulations preferably in Pro Model to include process modeling, capacity and throughput analysis, test multiple configurations, optimize manufacturing flows and integrate performance statistics into models.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Ability to write and read English.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with proven track record of strategic process improvement, project management and leadership.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry a plus.
